hey guys ummm is there like a program that u have to get to download video...well download the video from a video camara to ur computer ??... my teacher had a cable that u connect it to the video camara to the computer and directly transfers the video from the video camara to the computer.... i was wondering how you do u download the video from a video camara to the computer... i know its a firewire..but my teacher my teacher gave me a usb cable and told me that he uses that to transfer the video to the computer....but i tried that on my computer but it doesnt wanna transfer it .....i connect the video camara to the computer and nothing happens and was wondering wut i need to do to transfer the video to the computer

There are two ways to do it:
Firewire (the best)
USB - (meh, not so much the best)
The best thing to do is plug in the camera and turn it on. If your computer recognizes the device, you're doing good. If not, you need to get past that hurdle first.
Use your video editing program, or if you run Windows XP, Windows Movie Maker, and then connect your camera. Select "capture movie from device", and experiment to see if you can get those movies to sync with Windows Movie Maker.
It's not the best program, but it's really good, and very universal for a beginner.
