Professional video cam VS. Standard Video Digital Cam?

Im an aspiring Video Director and I want to get a Video Camera. im only 16 but i wanna start practicing. Profesional Video Cameras cost a fortune like 5,000 for a good one. Standard Digital Video Cameras only cost like 500 or 600 for a good one. I wanna kno if a standard one can help me and allow me to do videos and stuff that are decent. I really dotn got the money for a Profesional one and I dont wanna get a Standard one if its not gonna help me. So whats your thoughts?

I recommend saving for a little while until you can afford a camera that is "3CCD" They start around $1200. Many brands make these like Canon, Sony, panasonic ECT.

Don't get caught up in wanting an HD cam either. They do make affordable HD cams now, but they aren't worth sacrificing other features.

Oh, and professional cameras cost a lot more than $5000. At my work our small creative services department uses panasonic cameras that run $30,000 and they aren't HD.
