I have always had an old 20 gig ipod, without video, it died so I just bought a new 80 gig, ipod classic. I just downloaded the latest version of itunes. But I cannot figure out how to load a video onto my itunes library. The videos are home videos that open in windows media player. I have tried to use the "add file to library" the "add folder to library" and the "import" feature. but nothing works, and the videos will not play in itunes either.
do I need to convert them to an mp4 file? is so, how do you do that? and after that how do I add them to my library?
Thanks for any help

you need to convert it I think. http://www.zamzar.com/url/ use zamzar. Save it to say your desktop and open it with itunes and that should do it. You need an alternative email cuz these guys spam a lot, but it works great and virus free. I use it all the time to download and convert videos.

yes you do need to convert to iPod format (mp4). in order to do that you need conversion software. the best that i have run into is cucusoft. if you purchase the suite it allows you to convert just about any type of file including DVD and home video to iPod format.
available at cucusoft.com
