I need help with video and memeory for my computer?

ok let me explain,, when i go to watch a video, any video like yahoo video, you tube, video, any internet video, any ways, I am having trouble watching any of them,, but what happens is that the videos will start, and stop so much that watching one is just impossible, a 3 minute video may take as long as 10 to 15 minutes to watch,,

and i have been told that it may be the memory on my computer,, which I only have 256 MB memory,, I have a real good computer an old compaq workstation, with and XP 2 in it, and I got lots of space on my hard drive,, I got 2 hard drives 20Gb and 80 Gb,, and it has a Pent;;; 4 in it so it is a good computer and some what fast, and I have 16 Mb of memory in my video thingy,, but here are my Questions..

1. if I add 256 Mb of more memory will I beable to see the videos with out it stoping so much,

2. or do I need to upgrade my video memory or graphics card

3. how do I do this,,

I realy would like to watch the internet videos,, with out them stoping. thank you

It's probably both solutions mentioned, slow ISP and memory.

Goto http://www.4allmemory.com to do a free live online check to see what memory you have, and what is available to add, it works good! :)

The problem is most likely your internet connection speed.
Nope nope you've got the wronf idea. From what your saying its all "internet video" which is subject to buffering. Youtube and google video and all these guys are frequently wightied down with over 1 million users trying to watch video at the say time. Try watching some movie trailers from aol.com , If you are still getting the same lag (i mean reeeaaallly bad, because everyone has to lag at some point), ask your cable/dsl connection to check you internet connection speeds.
It sounds a lot like a memory problem. Windows XP needs about 512mb to run comfortably, any less than that and it will run everything a lot slower, as you are experiencing. Your video card should be ok for just watching videos. If you have a best buy near you, they have a service which will install RAM for you, think it's about $30 or so but isn't too difficult to do yourself. Ask any of your friends if you're not comfortable doing it yourself.
Streaming video has nothing to do with your computer speed, it's your internet connection. If you are using dial-up, you can buy the best computer made and it won't make a difference. If you can play a DVD or watch a video you downloaded to your hard drive and it doesn't hesitate, then it obviously isn't your memory!
maybe its your internet if its dial up its takes a long time to see videos online like 15 sec 3 sec foward.
