Some questions about Video bitrates and a few other things.....?

I am converting my ripped VOB video files into Divx, i have the software (SUPER) and everything to do it. I just need some help:

I want my videos to take up not too much more than 1gb each (preferably 600-900mb) and i want them to be of a decent quality to where i can have it on Full screen and it would look at least "pretty good".

I dont know if you have ever downloaded Divx (AVI) files off of Limwire but they are for a full length video about 750mb and look really nice, but i dont know the specs. Could you help me out

I would like a recommendation for the following:

Video Scale Size (from 320:240 to 1280:720)

Video Bitrate (kbs (from 64 to 29040)

Audio Sampling Freq. (from 11025 - 48000)

And thats it, I would just like a recommendation, I can handle the video scale size on my own, the most important to me is the Video Bitrate and Audio sampling, i just have no idea what to set them as.. not a clue. So any help would be just great thankyou in advance

Choppy video on Mac?

I have a 900MHz iBook G3, its really fast, but when I watch videos on the internet, they are choppy, but the audio is fine. the videos are loaded, but nothing is smooth. and last week, I watched a video and it was just fine. what is wrong with it? I watched 2 videos, one off the apple website (quicktime) and off of youtube (flash video).

Thanks in advance!

Choppy video on Mac?myspace tweaks

A lot of it depends on the video you're watching. Some videos are hopeless to begin with.

If you're watching the vids through your browser, clear the cache and the history.

I don't know how much RAM you have, but if you have a lot of apps running in the back ground, try shutting some off.

Choppy video on Mac?top 10 myspace myspace.com

it probably needs to be checked out. Just to make sure nothing is wrong with it and it is working properly

if not, it probly sucks anyway and its a waste.

:)
A G3 is kind of old. It might be fine for word processing and such but for streaming video, it might be a bit low. If you are watching the video in HD, that might be one reason b/c the processor cannot decode the video fast enough. Try selecting a lower resolution/quality video.

Video codec help? DivX?

Hey!

When I got Adobe Premiere, there were codecs which weren't functioning, as told by K Lite Codec pack when I installed it. Anyway. now when I watch DivX videos in DIVx, the videos are no way as good quality as before. Is their anyway to get back these codecs or get new ones so my video quality will go back again?

Is there somewhere where I can see what video codecs I have and/or any problems with them?

Also, I have a Media Centre PC from Windows XP, what codecs oringinally came on their, so if I can see what video codecs are installed, I can compare them to someone else's who has the same/similar pc?

Thanks alot

Audio and Video Help?

Ok, I have been given a project at school about the WW2. We are supposed to make the video with audio and a video clip. I have seen pervious projects before and this is what I need help on. I want to film the man speaking and at the same time, show a video from WW2. I mean this by going on the Windows Movie Maker. I want to import the video clip of WW2 (off youtube or something) and make the video silent but have the man be speaking in the backround while the video clips are playing. How do I do that?

Audio and Video Help?guy myspace

im not sure about windows movie maker....

But with other programs that ive used, the program isolates the video and audio tracks. So for the war scene you would delete the sound track and leave the video. For the interview you would delete the video track and leave the audio..

So now you have a video track of WW2 and an audio track of the interviewee.

What you are gonna have to do is put them on overlapping layers. So that they play at the same time...

I hope this helps.

Good Luck!

Is video the next big thing?

--

Question context:

--

The rise in popularity of websites such as Youtube or google Video and the ease of producing a simple video using camera phones etc has led to a boom in individual video production.

Blogging was the big thing at the turn of the millennium and now it seems video blogging or 'vlogging' is the next best thing. It's more immediate, more emotive ('emo') and possibly less time consuming than writing a blog post.

Video and the Internet also has the ability to elevate Joe Bloggs to relative fame, wheras traditional routes to media success are long, hard and usually depend on a good list of contacts.

Do you watch alot of video on the Internet? If so why?

The thing about video vs. text is this. In text I can easily search and only read the parts that I'm interested in. Also, making the text searchable requires little to no work by the writer.

However, video is different because its harder to find exactly the parts that I want to watch. Also, there does nto exist technology to make videos automatically searchable and indexable like text is.

Mostly I only watch videos for entertainment.

Choppy video and buffering?

I have DSL and my download speed is very low: 275 kpbs. (I've done about every website's speed test). Lately videos have been buffering VERY much, I've had to wait for YouTube videos to load. (they didn't used to). One in particular being the videos on Joel Osteen Ministries website. The video is very choppy and buffers constantly to the point where it's very annoying. I was curious if everyone could see these videos without constant buffering or if it's just my lousy download speed. Anyway, I've posted a question similar to this before and some questions I've gotten were if I had filters on all phones (which I do), bad wiring (which we don't have). So it could just be my lousy connection. Are there any other solutions to this problem? Thanks!

I have that same player too...but I can't figure it out either! Sometimes you can find the video in the browser history and internet tools.
Get the embed and the link. Then go to google and search for a youtube to Ipod downloader. Insert the info, and badabing. The downloader may cost money or may not.
You need a program that extracts FLVs from a website, just search for it. Then you need a program that converts them into a format your player can read.

Yes that is your video card, or to be more accurate, it is the closest thing you have to a video card. Low end computers sometimes don't have actual dedicated video cards, they just use video adapters, that is what you have. It will most likely not play that game at all, and even if it did, the performance would be terrible. If that is a desktop you can install a video card however, you just need to find out if you have AGP or PCI Express slots, and go from there.

i dont know, sorry, can u help me??

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
In order to find out the RAM of your video card/graphic adapter, do the following: go to Start - Run and type msinfo32. This will open the System Information file. Double click on Components on the list on the left and then click on Display. On the right side you will see all the details about your device including the RAM (look at adapter RAM). Good luck!
that is your video card and when you see the 910gl express i beleive that means you are running off of an integrated video card. an integrated card means that hardware is solderd to the mother board and cannot be changed or upgraded unless you buy a new motherboard. dell laptops are well known to have these integrated cards. as well as some desktops like e-machines

Google video?

why cant i watch videos on google, video? certain videos (south park for example) will say "this video is currently unavailable, please try again later" i turned moderate safe search is off, most of the south park videos are like that. Why?

Also, why are videos on youtube lasting say half an hour, split up into 4, eight minute segments, its stupid. sombody please help me

Google video?blocked myspace

The reason that videos could currently be unavailable is because on Google Video, it uses videos from other sites such as youtube. And, on youtube there are quite a few videos that get deleted, and that's when that message comes up.

And that is because you can only upload up to 10 minutes of video on youtube, so they HAVE to split it up into multiple segments for it to be able to be viewed on Youtube.

What video hosting sites allow streaming playback in their native resolution, versus Youtube's

Well, like the question asks, what are some video hosting sites which offer streaming playback (like YouTube), in their native resolutions (unlike YouTube)?

You Tube has started to grow the wrong way on me. At first it was this "oh so great" video site. Now, I notice video after video at cruddy quality levels, making most of them even a waste of time to watch. For this reason, it would be apparent that a "better" hosting site will prevail through this Youtube age we are at.

Let's hear what you feel is the "best" currently. Remember, they must offer video streaming, not just a file hosting site.

Has anybody heard of the mass video removal that was happening on YouTube?

I've heard that several weeks ago, on a news article, that Viacom ordered YouTube, the popular video-sharing service, to remove 100,000 videos. The 100,000 videos had to be removed because of copyright infringement with Viacom affiliates such as MTV and VH1. Other companies also wanted the site to remove videos for copyright infringement.

In the past few weeks I've seen a number of videos being removed from My Favorites- in which I called them "casualties". And how can I tell? I can tell when video title was bold in black with the words "video unavailable" written in bold red. If I want to see what the user is up to if the video was removed, I sometimes click on the user's name. Sometimes the user still has videos, but in the worst cases, the user's account was suspended- meaning that the account was killed off.

I'm not sure when are the mass video removals are ever going to end. I hope there's a way to stop YouTube from doing that. When is this ever going to stop?

Has anybody heard of the mass video removal that was happening on YouTube?wrestlers myspace

If that is true, I am not surprised. Every clip of every movie, tv show, music video, etc that is on there and available to watch is violating copyright infringement laws (assuming they did not get permission from each of the copyright holders). With the RIAA and MPAA cracking down of file sharing sites as of late, I am surprised the YouTube lasted as long as it did. I am sure the YouTube was threatened with prosecution if they did not remove the material so they are just following orders.

Has anybody heard of the mass video removal that was happening on YouTube?love girls myspace myspace.com

As long as videos that are copyright protected keep being uploaded, it will continue to happen. It's very anal of MTV, etc if you ask me. It's a freakin clip, not a blockbuster full length movie. I think we need to tell MTV to find something better to do.
i heard that viacom did it.

Capturing digital video - Sony mini-DV?

I have a mini-DV Sony TRV19 camcorder. I'm using a connection to the camera that plugs into my computer via USB.

Previously, I've used Microsoft Moviemaker to capture video off the camera. I plug the camera in, open up Moviemaker, hit play on my camera, then click a capture video button in Moviemaker.

I've done that 2 or 3 times, and it's worked fine.

Last night, when I was doing it, on the digital video file I captured, the audio was fine and played normally, but the video was jerky, almost not video at all, but more like jerky still shots from the video portion.

Do you have any idea what's going on?

Yes the Flip video records sound with the video. The microphone isn't very powerful and you don't have any control over the audio level, so the audio you get isn't always outstanding. Yes you can delete the video that comes on the camera.

Converting Analog video to Digital Video to edit and burn DVDs?

I have some footage of my wedding (2 videos). One was taken on a VHS-C camcorder and the other was taken on a Hi8. The friends that took these put them both on a big VHS tape. I am interested in *somehow* getting these video files onto my computer to edit them using Windows Movie Maker and later making a DVD with Sonic MyDVD that came with my computer.

My question is--would it work to purchase a DVD-Recorder and simply stream the video through it and put it on a DVD then use that DVD to import the video onto the computer or will a DVD recorder even produce a DVD that the video can be edited? I had several people suggest taking it to Wal Mart and they would put it on a DVD but I want to be able to edit it myself and also have something that in the future I can transfer VHS and other analog things to DVD... any suggestions? I'm also in the market to purchase a digital video camera and heard that some of them offer the capability of converting analog to digital... Any suggestions?

The easy way : Buy a dvd recorder and hook the vcr with the dvd recorder and thats it.

The other way : Buy a VCR with firewire conection but once you connect the vcr with the computer you must set up the capture device to capture video and audio from "a non controlable device" this means that you have to control the vcr not the editing program.
You can buy a DVD recorder and plug them into the composite inputs on the back or front of the unit. However the Hi8 tapes will not work in your VHS-C adaptor. You will need to hook the camera directly into DVD recorder. If you want to be able to edit these videos then you will need a capture card and editing software such as Pinnacale Studio. A new video camera might have the option for analog to digital conversion. You need to do some home work and see if that feature is available, normally on the lower end models you will not find it.

I recommend saving for a little while until you can afford a camera that is "3CCD" They start around $1200. Many brands make these like Canon, Sony, panasonic ECT.

Don't get caught up in wanting an HD cam either. They do make affordable HD cams now, but they aren't worth sacrificing other features.

Oh, and professional cameras cost a lot more than $5000. At my work our small creative services department uses panasonic cameras that run $30,000 and they aren't HD.

Video Card, I really need help!?

I really need an computer technician advices...

First of all, my 32MB was burned.

Recently I bought 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 5500. Before I assembled it on the my PC I add one fan making it very cool on dispersing the hot air, a total of 5 fans in all including the processor.

When I assembled the video card and turn it on, no video connectivity. I unplug the video card on AGP slot and plug it again. There's no sound that beep so it means the video card is not functioning. Still no signal from the monitor, i unplug my 2rams and plug it again. But still it can't. I tried many solutions and at last it went OK.

My specs is 1GB RAM, 1GHz processor P4 AMD Duron, 256 Video Card..

I used my PC for 12-15hrs. I realize every morning when i turn on my PC, THERE'S NO CONNECTIVITY!!! or my PC is not working!!! I turn it on and off many times, i guess 3-5 times without dissemble some parts on my PC. after 3-5 times on switching on and off then my PC is working FINE!

what is the wattage of your power supply? I think u might need a bigger power supply..

I would recommend a PSU greater than 450watts.. If your current PSU is less than that, i think u should change it soon before it causes more damage to your system.
If your computer has onboard video, you need to go into your Bios and disable the onboard video setting so that it will seek the video connection from the AGP slot instead. Sounds like right now though you have installed the video card into the AGP slot, your Bios is telling the system you are using the onboard video instead. As for you system specs you list, I am confused, P4 means Intel Pentium 4 generation, AMD Duron is an entirely different processor series not manufactured by Intel. If you built your machine and used a motherboard for a P4 and have inserted an AMD Duron processor, this could well be your problem too as they are not compatible mixed together. Perhaps you could locate the motherboard manufacturers name and model number and add that to the additional comments, that way I can check your specs and help further.
when you boot up, do you see the bios booting up?

if so, you still have a chance to repair the computer part(s).

else, get a old working monitor and see if it helps.

ps: get a fan appliance type to blow the air inside the room with the computer.

mercury of love
you need a new power supply. o and also learn some stuff before you post. P4 are made by Intel and Durons are made by AMD you can't have both of them on one motherboard they are RIVALS. anyway here is a good PSU:

Youtube video loading problems?

I wonder if anyone can help, basically some videos on Youtube (not all, though) will just refuse to load. Not refuse to load as such, but load RIDICULOUSLY slow as in take about 2 minutes to load 2 seconds worth of video. My Internet connection is fine, other sites load fine and the strange part is some Youtube videos even load fine, I'm able to stream them OK but it seems more often than not the Youtube video will choose to load ridiculously slowly, it is infuriating.

I use Opera as my main browser but it's not confined to this, I've tried Internet Explorer and Firefox too with the same problems. Generally if a video won't load in one browser it won't load in any of them. This didn't used to be a problem until about 6 months ago and all videos load fine on my Wii, anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

either the 6200 or the x1550 'should ' be more than enough.. granted, you're probably only going to get a max playable resolution of 1024x768 (mainly because your on the old PCI bus, and the cards only have 4 pixel pipelines)..

either card should also be capable of playing just about everything else you want to play, with the same res restrictions.
The 3rd one.

Is $100 your limit here? By spending $50 more you could really kick your game into high gear. Go for a Geforce 7 series (7900GS isn't too expensive)

Best Video Editing Software For HD Video?

Hello guys, I recently bought a new Sony HDR-SR7 HD video camera and a new computer to edit the videos on. I have been using Sony Vegas 8, but I find that the video rendering is a little slow.

My PC is a 2.4Ghz Quad Core Intel with 4GB ram, and I have high speed Hitachi drives. I run Windows Vista 64Bit. The pc works great, I just expected things to go a little quicker while rendering videos. A short 1 minute video already takes 10 minutes to render on 720p resolution (wmv).

Are there any good alternatives for Sony Vegas 8? If so, which ones?

Video play back problems?

I have these videos that when I play them they play to the end time that is displayed, but keep playing after the time they are telling me they end. I get a frozen picture and sound after that but if I click on the bar the sets the start play point I sometimes get extra video. How can I fix the video so that I play it all without having to try and find the remaining video inside the video?

S-Video, Sound...?

I am not recieving sound from my S-Video i correctly connected it, i plug to tv to the dish reciever, and i see the video, yet i do hear the sound, i have hundreds of S-Video Cords, i have a home theathre system, that has S-Video, i have a TV that has S-Video, and my Dish has S-Video, i tried plugging the S-Vid. to my dish from my tv, and then my white audio cord to the tv from the home theatre system, but no sound came out, how do i fix this mess, or what combination should work....any little answer will help

S-Video, Sound...?christian myspace

I don't think S-video cable will carry the audio. You need separate cables for audio. Try connecting your home theater to your dish audio out.

S-Video, Sound...?wrestlers myspace myspace.com

You need an AUDIO cable... hense VIDEO - into the matching input layer
S video is just for the video. You need to get a pair of rca cables and connect them where it says audio for the svideo output on your reciever
s video is for the video only. you'll need to run separate wires for the audio.
S-Video is a video cable (yellow) that only transfers video. You need to use a audio cable ( red and white ). Go to best buy they'll help you out.
S Video is only for video so you'll need an audio cable.

50 cent video?

OK. Odd question (I know). My girlfriend was traveling in Europe about 2 yr ago. She told me once that she spied a 50 cent video on in a bar somewhere. This reported video is suposed to be for a lesser known song that she did not recognise. The point is this. I need a rap video conosur that can tell me what song/video she was watching.

APPARENTLY, this video was the steryotipical rims, bling, and ***. HOWEVER, she said Mr. 50 had found some BIG BIG bootys. She said they were huge. As an *** man myself naturally...well....I really really want to find there asses. Can anyone help. That's all I know abou the video. My girlfriend said these girls put her *** to shame (and that isn't easy- ok I brag sorry). Does a 50 cent video of a lesser known song that is all bog big booty sound familiar? Anyone?

50 cent video?skinny myspace

It could be ANY or EVERY one of his music videos.

Not just 50 Cent's, but any rap video. I would try looking on Youtube, it's probably not a lesser-known song, as you say, just a song your girlfriend hadn't heard before. He wouldn't make a music video for just some song.

Video Card : Need to Upgrade - What To Buy?

Ok, so I just recently purchased Guitar Hero III and Battlefield 2 for the PC.

Guitar Hero 3 is unbearable to play, and BF:2 is choppy. I also currently play World of Warcraft, which runs fine, but could always be better. Getting around 20FPS.

My video card is onboard. It's a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430. It came with the computer I bought from Dell.

Recommended Video Cards for the following Games

------

BF:2 ---- NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater (128MB or Greater)

GH:3 ---- Video Card (Nvidia): Geforce 8800 GT

My PC Specs Below

----------

AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ 2.80 GHZ

2 Gigs of Ram

I was looking into the GeForce 8600GT 512MB video card located here ( link = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as... )

By looking at the required Video Cards for GH:3, it doesn't show this card on the list. Also, it says the 8400/8500 cards have known issues for Windows Vista.

Would the card I'm looking to buy work for these games?

Video Card : Need to Upgrade - What To Buy?myspace pics

You have a powerful processor paired with integrated graphics. It is perfect for business and 2D applications but also a perfect mismatch for 3D applications (games).

Your X2 5600+ deserves at least the mid level cards like 8600GT or ATI HD2600 XT. Get cards with gddr3 memory. 256Mb gddr3 will always beat 512Mb ddr2. I would not consider the card on the link w/ ddr2. I prefer the factory overclocked version, typically 600mHz core and 1600mHz memory. Overclock it some more and it gets into 8600GTS territory.

Video Card : Need to Upgrade - What To Buy?pimp myspace myspace.com

Yes, it will run BF2 perfectly

It will run GH3.. but it may not be perfectly smooth

Also, just make sure your Dell has a PCI-E x16 slot and not an AGP one
The 8600 GT is a great card. This is all just a question of how much you're willing to spend, and the 8600 GT is great at its price point. (You'll want to make sure you've got the most up-to-date driver from NVidia for any of these. If GH3 won't play on the 8600 GT, it's crappy programming and rest assured that a patch - either to the game or the drivers - will be forthcoming.)

There's a great review at Tom's Hardware, as well as one at Sharky Extreme. Both approach things from every price point imaginable, so you can pick your comfort level and decide what you want to spend in the balance of "what can I play now?" and "how long until I replace this again?" Sharky Extreme also tells you the best price they could find on just about every configuration imaginable, in a separate article on their site. Happy hunting!
Im going to get a 8600GT just for Battlefield seria but your proboly better getting the XFX one which is what my (really smart) friend recommended =].

It sounds like a internet plugin issue since they play fine off hard drive but not the net. It could be codec issue of different types of media files. Try uninstalling whatever the plugins are and reinstall.

It could also be a corrupt media player. Check for updates to windows and get the latest player and codecs.

Another possibility could be the video card driver or onboard motherboard video. Get the latest drivers, uninstall the old ones and install the new ones.

well, the drugs thing was my first guess, but since u claim not to be on anything, then it's probably just where ur getting ur videos from, i dont know

IPod Video Trouble: 640x360 being cut off a bit...?

I am having trouble with the software I use for converting my videos to mp4 format. Right now I am using Xilisoft Video Converter, as it allows you to choose the exact resolution you want it to.

When I transfer my video to iTunes, and view it in my movies, it appears like it should. However, when I try to watch it after synchronizing, the video appears "cut off" on my iPod screen. (Im trying to watch anime, and it's really annoying to have to "guess read" the missing words)

I am 100% positive that 640x360 is the proper video size and that is what I input onto the output settings on Xilisoft Video converter.

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

No video with Bose 321 DVD entertainment system connected to Panasonic 50 inch HD Plasma TV?

this is a new set-up. When using just the TV with cable input I get both audio and video but when I try to play a DVD in the Bose 321 I get only audio but no video.

The TV component video 1 jacks (audio and video) are fed from the cable box.

The TV component video 2 jacks go to the Bose box. The set of wires is 3 heavier wires. I think they are 'special' for better signal quality for the plasma TV

Other than what is described above the cable box has 2 smaller black (audio I think) wires going to the Bose unit labeled TV jack

Any ideas why I get audio but not video when playing a DVD but I am able to get both audio and video when watching TV thru the cable box?

If everything is hooked up correctly, and it sounds like it is, then William F is probably right. Check the Panasonic manual and see what type of input is needed to run component video 2. If it's HD only (720p, 1080i/p), and I suspect that it is, then you will have to do one of two things... follow William's suggestion to try a different input, or upgrade to a high def DVD player... preferably one with HDMI output. If the component video 2 input is supposed to accept low def (480p, 480i) inputs, then you might have a defect.... but I don't think so. These types of problems are usually hook up or compatibility related, not defects.

Did you try changing the source on the TV. What do you have the 321 hooked to in the back of the TV. Try running a direct video feed from the 321 directly to a input on the TV. Also make sure your video out and video in are correct.
Some TV's do not support 480i on the YprPb inputs

it is possible you have to hookup the DVD using a

480i connection like S-Video or use the Green of the Component cable to feed the Yellow NTSC video

for the setup.

From the DVD setup change the output mode from the

S-Video jack to Component in many DVD players made

3-4 years ago this was common

S-Video OR Component NOT BOTH

Also you may have one of the DVD players with the jacks color coded wrong

Zenith was most common for this one

Plug the Green cable into the TV green Y (PrPb) plug

then try it in all 3 of the DVD outputs until a picture is shown

you then have to determine which is red and which is blue

Flesh tone of faces is usually the easiest method

Video card not recognized?

I tried installing Gametap on my computer, was informed I didn't mmet video card requirements. My computer is about 3 years old now, but I bought it with an extra good video card. It's a Radeon something or other.

Anyhow, I googled how to find out what type of card I have, following the directions I find out my computer is showing that I'm using "The system is using the generic video driver. Please install video driver provided by the hardware manufacturer."

So for some reason my computer isn't recognizing my video card.

A little back story. A couple months ago both my disk drives weren't being recognized. I checked them to see if they were disabled for some reason, and they weren't. They were still enabled, but the computer didn't recognize them. After some digging I found help on a message board that lead me to downloaing a file on Microsofts website, followed a few directions and it fixed the problem. Could this be related?

First, find what model Radeon video card it is. Radeon is made by the company ATI, so when you find the model number go to www.ati.com and go into support/download drivers and find your video card and download the correct software for your computer. Then it will most likely ask you to restart your computer once you install the software, and then it will recognize it.

Video card not recognized?sexy myspace myspace.com

^ Indeed. If you bought a mid- or high-end video card three years ago, it is probably a Radeon 95,96,97, or 9800, or some variant of those, which should run the majority of games fine at reasonable resolutions with reasonable detail settings.

Edit: The latest version of the Radeon drivers work with all cards from the 9500 all the way up to the X1950, so try installing that. Here's the win XP version http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/ra...

Download and install the entire catalyst software suite, not just the display driver.

If it tells you your card isn't compatible, go here (http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html ) and try a different card's driver.
You may have to turn your computer off remove the side panel and remove the card and look to see if there is a number or model on it.
http://www.omegadrivers.net/ati/win2k_xp...

Download these drivers

They are performance drivers for video cards, and they are for everything from like radeon 9000 and up, so that should set you up.

thank you
I remember having this problem. You have to first download music videos on your psp by using the psp's internet. That way it creates the file. Then transfer them to it. I also use Xilisoft programs owning a ipod, zune, and psp, I just mainly use it for the Ipod, but either way they all work the same and I think xilisoft has good quality, however I switched to SoThink. It lets you crop the videos to full screen. O and I almost forgot. To download stuff onto your psp from your psp, use the RSS channel located under network. This should create the file. Then connect it to your computer, and find the file on it, and put the movie in there, then if you want to you can delete whatever you download. You just have to download any random thing onto it to create the file.
if you want put the video on your PSP, make sure the video formats are UMD and MPEG-4,because the psp only support the two video formats.

If the answer is yes, just use the psp software, then you can transfer them to your psp easily.

Video editing questions?

Well, I used to edit videos alot a while back and I want to get back into it, and I was thinking about in the future going to film school for video editing, (can someone tell me about professional video editing?). But for now I don't have a video camera, is there anywhere where I can find some decently priced video cameras, or is there anywhere I can download videos made for the intent of editing.

Video editing questions?myspace.com picture

FCP Express is @300.00 - best bet if if your on a budget.

an iMac for @1000 bucks should easily be able to handle basic videos.

Camerawise - I would say get one as many people won't want to give you professional raw footage - and the best way to learn every trick of the trade is documentary/event coverage - this makes you more creative and has a more auteur role for the editor whereas narrative etc. is mainly adhering to a director's storyboard.

And get a decent mic - and a wireless - they start as little as 100 - and I would recommened just finding friends / family with cool events, performances, etc - and do a few mini docs - make it short and never boring, practice narration over flash (a video should never just be all music or all effects) and make a few of those and see what others think.

It's a different recommendation - but IMO is the fastest and most proactive - no one is giving you their raw footage as most filmmakers/videographers are deathly afraid of theft/copyright etc (people passing off other's footage as their own is RAMPANT).

So that's why I recommend buying a camera - editing other's footage is a great learning tool as you'll be much more objective, but it takes a while to find people that'll let you edit for them plus any weakness in their footage and direction they give you etc. impairs your learning, so keep that in mind when shopping for other's footage if you find anyone.

Camerawise - you can find decent cameras for learning for $1000 - although the pickings are slim - Panasonic makes a very primitave shoulder mount camera for this price range, Canon has a 24p 1980/1080 HDV handicam - but handicams will have limited sound inputs etc. Used VX2000s/1000s can be had for under 1000.

For film school - I'm going to take a lot of heat for this - NARRATIVE/HOLLYWOOD film schools are mostly BS - Not saying it's a waste, just 95-99 percent of them are ...yeah...and I've been through it - that film market's elite are definitely not teaching in Universities for the most part and I've found one flake after another that I've found out after the fact, years after graduation, never really made a damn thing, or have tried to and it turns out being considerably worse than their students work - just be carefull what college you pick. I recommend BFA programs that teach all aspects of film from experimental/doc/narrative EQUALLY or with a slant towards documentary/experimental - a good film school will have at least one or two classes that deal with the mental breakdown of how film communicates thought to the viewer by visuals/sound alone (sans script/dialogue) Eisenstein/Vertov heavy. For narrative classes - I'll aslo take heat for this - the classical directors are just better and built the language - Wells/Lang/Hitchcock should be heard around campus - not Tarantino/Rodriguez etc. There's a difference between storytellers and filmmakers.

Also - if you want a job - DOCUMENTARY/CORPORATE videos will get you work so long as you're serious and have half a brain LOL - narrative could have you waitin' tables for years.

Ok, my rant is over LOL.

Video editing questions?layouts for myspace myspace.com

The best way is to take some of your samples and then go visit all the editors in your area.

Buying a video camera will make you a shooter not an editor. I am sure there are plenty of shooters who will let you "practice" with their raw footage.

I don't think you have the $40,000 to buy a video editing system so you can get down to it and start editing. Perhaps you need to spend some time finding an editing booth and work with established editors as a starting point.

If you are going to SC or UCLA you will get connected to editors in Hollywood if you get any good.
fhotoace was right on saying that buying a video camera will make you a shooter, not an editor. Though there's nothing wrong with fiddling with both.

For decently priced video cameras, go to Best Buy or to shop.yahoo.com.

But he was way off about getting your own editing system. I make a living selling editing systems in Hollywood, and $40k is wayy off the scale. You can get yourself a professional editing system for under $3,000 (Adobe Premiere + PC), or a top-of-the-line FCP Studio 2 system on a Mac Pro for another $1,000 or so. Heck, you can get a budget system for half that price.

How about you try and connect with young filmmakers in your area (through small festivals or online) or students, and offer to try and edit what they shot? There's nothing for them to loose, and you get interesting footage to try to see how you can turn mud into gold ;-)

Help With Video Converting Please!?

another question ... would the MPEG-4 decoding ruin the .avi video files? cuz dere are still some videos i will end up keepin on my computer and i wish to watch ... thx all

Help With Video Converting Please!?backgrounds for myspace

Don't burn to the VCD format because the quality will suffer. MPEG-4 is a "lossy" codec, meaning that it throws picture information away as it translates the AVI file. This is particularly bad if the original AVI is already encoded with a different codec. Save your files directly to the CD as data files if they're not too big for the CD. The only reason to encode the videos to a VCD format is if you want to watch them on your TV using a set-top DVD player.

Ouch. Here this lol. Forget nero startsmart and use Nero Express. Burn everything as a data cd so u have everything back-uped. Then when yur computer stable and stuff (from what i am hearing i suggest u put in more memory and reinstall windows), download the K-lite codec pack. Divx and xvid are very common avi codecs so make sure u have them, Back those up on a cd also. When things are stable etc try out the codecs. Most of yur worries may be over cause i mean, yur videos already on a cd so the risk of loosing them is 0 (unless u scraTCH them), just need d proper codec to decode them is what u hav to worry about. Video game violence a concern?

I am doing an opinion essay on video game violence, and if the nature and level of violence in video games is becoming an increasing concern. I need three arguments, but I can't seem think of a last one. Here is what I have so far:

The nature and level of violence in video games is becoming an increasing cause for concern is primarily due to various research and studies done providing a potential link between violent video games and adverse behaviour among players, however, secondary concerns include the possible negative effects related to a child鈥檚 social development and the game play itself ensuing addiction and obsession among users.

I know there are three there, but I am uncertain about using the addiction one as it doesn't have a whole lot to do with VIOLENCE in video games. Anyone have any other ideas???? Much appreciated!!

You could also talk about how many games that are excessively violent (eg Manhunt) are meant for an older and more mature audience that is able to separate video games from reality (hence the M rating...such games are not meant for parents to buy for their kids). Also how those who are affected in such a way that they become more violent are predisposed to do so (and why they might be caused to carry out such violent actions...what triggers it).

New Video Card and unsure about something, please help?

Ok so i got a new video card from my friend and it's not working, the instruction manual tells me that i need to disable my old video card first then put the new one in and turn on the computer and install it. Well i'm kind of worried that if i disable the old card i will not have video. I want to know what i should do. I asked my dad, he's like a computer guy, and he told me not to disable the old video card and just put the new one in and install. I did that but the computer does not start up and the computer is color screwy(lack of better word).

So my question is is it safe to disable the old video card first then install the new one? will i be able to enable it again if i disable it with no problem in case the video card does not work? If you need more details please tell me.

Yes you can disable your old card . but you should not have to .do this install the new card but leave your old one plugged in and go to the device manager and see if there are any conflicting devices . also in the display mode you can see what color quality is and from there you can choose 1 or 2 1 being the old card and 2 being the new card.most dealers tell you to disable your old card. because most people do not use two at one time.also it will minimize and conflict .

New Video Card and unsure about something, please help?wwe myspace myspace.com

You need to disable it in the BIOS, you should have no problem reverting back to it if the add on card is still not working after you do that.
here is what you should do. Put the old video card back in. Boot the computer. Uninstall the video card driver so the computer is using a standard vga driver. when it says you have to reboot the computer shut the computer off and install the new card and boot the computer. When the computer boots it should detect the new card and ask you to install the drivers for it.

I recently installed a video card (Geforce series6 6200tc 256Mb) my motherboard is Intel Hazelton D865GVHZ and now when i'm playing any video it lags like hell and the video players CPU usage reaches its maximum, the screen flickers and sometimes the PC crashes. But when i am playing MMORPG like Hero online it is really smooth. The thing is i got two video cards when i switches my video setting to my onboard video card(AGP 96mb) i can play any video that i want, i can also play MMORPG but its a bit dodgy.

You need to completely disable the old onboard video card. Your computer is getting it's signals crossed and is trying to use both cards at once. Uninstall any drivers from the old card any everything. Check the performance settings under Display and make sure that the hardware acceleration is enabled and maxed out.

Video Game Design Career Question?

As a freshman in highschool, with a passion for video games, i would like to understand and be informed upon some courses you might suggest to help me succeed in my goal to become a video game designer.

I would like to know

-Some helpful courses that would help me in college

-How working as a video game designer is

-How much free time as a video game designer you get

-What is life like as a video game designer?

- Its the job enjoyable?

I am having trouble with this decision because people view this job as a " silly job" that is not beneficial to society. Should i go with society and become a history teacher, or do what i like and achieve my goal as a video game designer?

Thank you

Video Game Design Career Question?myspace comments

Video Game Designer makes a whole lot more money than a history teacher, so I would recommend that over being a history teacher.

There are many paths to take to be a video game designer.

The most common path that I have seen is for someone to know how to program games themselves as well have the over all design concept and management skills.

Courses that could help in college would include programming, management, and if there is a game design major, take it!

My friends program for gaming companies but none of them are the main designer. They tell me they work long hours but the pay is good. The bigger name the company the more demanding the job is. The smaller the company the more diverse one has to be because you are going to be doing more in terms of position wise. In a bigger company you can be more specialized.

If you love to design games, then it should be enjoyable!

You can buy a video head cleaner tape, just pop it in for a few seconds and it cleans the video heads.

No big deal
I can help you. The heads are the metal wheels inside the tape deck, the place you insert your miniDV tape. You need to buy a miniDV cleaning tape so it can clean the heads. When you get one, (Best Buy or Circuit City) all you have to do is load it in and press play. Let it run for 10 seconds and press stop. You will need to use this cleaning tape if you load in different brands; i.e. -Maxell, Fujifilm, Sony, etc.

Help for video card performance issue?

I have an ATI Radeon 9250 128mb PCI card. When I play fullscreen games, the video is PERFECT. When I try to view DVD's, video downloads or online video, and when I use Internet Explorer, every change in the image or video requires a 1/2 to 1 second refresh of the entire screen. I've messed around with the video card settings for resolution and refresh rate, but have not found a winning combo. Why would video/dvd and everything in Internet Explorer refresh so slow (video is unwatchable!), but full-screen games have such smooth graphics and motion? It seems the game would be more graphics intensive, but they work better... Is there a way I can fix this issue that anyone knows of? I can provide more information if you need.

Help for video card performance issue?best myspace

Hmmm... Good question.

Really all I can suggest is to make sure you have the updated video and chipset drivers for your computer.

Generally, when you have an issue in one area it translates into the other. Which this is not the case with your computer.

If this was simply an issue with the DVD's playing choppy I would suggest enabling DMA on the DVD drive, but that is not the only issue. So I have to assume it is driver related.

Try the new drivers, and if that doesn't help, come back.

When watching video online, often time the bandwith to views the video causes it to distort.

It lots clearer if you were watching movie offline than online.

Another factor is the person who made the video whether he use a high quality codec program or similar.
The refresh rate in Internet Explorer is limited by the network speed. Video downloading do take a long time as well. After the download the video file is in your computer and can run fast and refresh fast.

There is nothing wrong with your graphic card, I don't think you can do anything about it.

Cheers

My new VisionTek Video Card wont download?

I just bought a VisionTek 256Mb X1300 DMS59 SFF PCI-e

The video card I have before I bought the Visiontek video card was an intergrated video card made by VGA i think

I shut my computer down....unhooked it......put the video card in the pci-e slot....then put back together.....and hooked the monitor up to the new video card.....then i went into device manager to disable the intergrated video.....I then put the software that it came with....it started installing and then like 2 minutes later an error message came up saying:

Severe:

Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup.

How do I get my video card to install? I also tried calling VisionTek....the guy said that the intergrated video card is trying to install by itself....so i also tried uninstalling the intergratedd video card while before i was disableing it.....

please help!

Enter the BIOS of your PC (it should tell you how to do that when you start the PC or by looking in the manual) and disable the on board video card in the BIOS.

After that, start Windows in Safe Mode:

To get into the Windows XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

Note: With some computers if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.

Uninstall the old drivers of your on-board card. Install the drivers for your new card and you should be golden.

Let me know if that helped.

Video editing / windows movie maker?

okay so I want to export the video I've made in windows movie maker with maximum quality. I can do that using 'best quality for playback' but then the resolution is like 600x400 or something.

I want the same thing but for the video to be smaller (320x240) but if I use High Quality (small) the video is shite compared to the other.

So basically how do I make a small video w/ great quality or find a way to change that great looking 600x400 video smaller?

Video editing / windows movie maker?girly myspace

You can't really if you're expanding the viewing window to fit both resolutions.

If you want smaller in actual file size, you can keep the resolution but lower the bitrate.

If you want smaller in resolution, try manually upping the bitrate.

Video card installation help?

I recently bought a dual monitor video card to have 2 monitors, it is a PCI slot memory card, my old video card is connected directly to my motherboard, so i went to device manager and "uninstalled" the display adapter, which went fine. when i put the new video card into the slot, i turned on the computer and just got a black screen w/ lines across it...

I tried multiple times uninstalling and adding the video card but i just can't get past the boot screen when the new video card is installed???? Any ideas??? I was thinking maybe it could be the video card itself, or i read somewhere it might be the computer's bios needs to be updated (it is 3 yrs old computer). thanks for any help

If you are running windows xp, you should not have any problem. at the very least, windows would use a generic vga driver to get you your screen and then you load your drivers. you need to have the card installed prior to loading drivers or the drivers will never detect your hardware and windows may not know they exist. Anyways, use the drivers that came on the cd, make sure the card is seated all the way, and pray you followed proper ESD protection methods and didnt fry your card.

Did you disable your inbuilt graphics in bios setup 1st?
Did you get a disc with the new video cards device drivers ? Use it and load the video card drivers.

You can have multiple video drivers on your system. The on-board isn't going to hurt anything, just like having on-board sound along with a sound card.

After installing the drivers, you'll have to shut down the computer, put in the video card in the proper slot and seated and hook up the single or dual monitors.

Then reboot the computer and see if the card is finally recognized.

Sarge
Turning off the video adapter in windows only affects windows. You still need to disable the onboard video in the bios typical bios access is through f2 f10 or delete key during startup. Woudl suggest connecting one monitor to the onboard video while booting so this can be accomplished then when you have the bios set to access the pci video first you should be able to boot with no issue

Which video hosting site to choose?

For a little over a year now my friends, and I have been making short little videos for the amusement of our other acquaintances. Something that has always troubled me though is how video hosting sites manage the videos I submit. For example, a friend pointed out that if a video becomes successful on Youtube it means Youtube can have the rights to the video itself. If this is true or false I am not sure.

In the end my question technically is, what video hosting site provides the least restrictions or tricks on your work? Which ones don't put somewhere in their Terms %26amp; Agreements that they have full rights to whatever you upload, and instead let you fully keep your video?

I apologize if I ANNOY anyone with my ignorance concerning this subject matter, but if I got anything wrong just let me know because... THE MORE YOU KNOW...

Which video hosting site to choose?top 10 myspace

If you copyright, or withhold all rights to your own work, youtube should not have any rights to the movies. I personally think youtube is the best place to start off. Read their user agreements and see if you can dig up any answers. I wish you the best of luck with your hobby.

Turn a TV video in to a Video OUT?

My TV doesn't have a Video Out and I wanted to use a capture card I bought to capture the video from the TV to my computer (its a USB capture Card) but I don't have a Video Out OR a s-video out, is their such a device to turn a video in to a video out?PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND IF you are going to suggest getting a capture card for a computer and record the video on the TV that way cause I don't want to watch TV on a small monitor rather than a big tv.

Turn a TV video in to a Video OUT?myspace icons

The FACT of the matter is, you cannot convert ANY input into an output....nor can you ADD an output to a TV set without some serious Electical Engineering....

First, you need a STABLE Power supply....then you need a Video buffer and amp....Then you need to find a place to connect it and then BALANCE the Audio and Video signals properly so that they are at the proper voltages/levels....

And believe me, you won't find standalone Video amps just sitting in a store (internet or otherwise)

So go get one of those 1001 Electrical experimenter's Kit's and look for a 6Mhz Wideband Amp and an Audio signal amp setup in it....Then get 2 of these kits....one for audio and one for Video.....

Then hope to God your TV signal is well isolated, if you PULL that signal down or you don't ISOLATE IT, you could blow your Video or Audio amps in the TV set.....

Turn a TV video in to a Video OUT?myspace background myspace.com

If you are saying that you want to watch T.V. on your computer, than a "capture" card with a coaxial input (a standard cable input) is all you need.

There is no way to change a video in to a video out, it just doesn't work like that.
The cheapest option is buy a capture card with a HDTV tuner.
Yes there is such a cable.

In Australis there is a connection that goes into the AV Input.

This device has a switch on it that allows you to convert the AV Input to an Output and vice-versa.

I use one of these at my house to run my Foxtel (Pay-TV) and my DVD/VCR recorder.

Just hunt around your local electronic shops until you find it.

The one I use came in the box with the DVD/VCR combo unit when I bought it.

Should I upgrade video card or ram ??

RAM!!!!!

128MB (shared!?!?!) is totally inadequate for Windows 2000 or Windows XP, and even for Windows 98 would be pushing it these days.

Should I upgrade video card or ram ??myspace code myspace.com

Dont upgrade your video card.... Streaming video is SO low quality, video card has virtually nothign to do with it.

You may not even need ram.

You need to tweak your players settings. Set a higher buffer. Change the connection speed in the players preferences for example.

*Real fast, press Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on the "Processes" tab. At the bottom click the check box "Show processes for all users", and then count the items listed there. It will help your diagnosis!
ram
First upgrade your RAM. Then, see if you can upgrade your Internet connection. Most modern video cards have more than enough oomph to handle streaming video.
i think you need both.

yes that video card is enough.
RAM. No doubt. You aren't having problems rendering the video, it's just that the video doesn't have a lot of RAM to load into, so you are getting a lot of choppiness. You should at least double your RAM.
That choppy movie has nothing to do with your video. If it were your video , you wouldn't see anything.

Upgrade RAM. Wouldn't hurt to get a better processor though, that helps with Broadband flow.

(i.e. your computer is really really out of date)
128 Meg! Damn, you need to upgrade that to at least 768 M or higher. The onboard video is probably using the PC ram so that'd be the first thing as you're probably using mainly virtual memory (aka, the hard drive). If after that you still have issues, then look into upgrading the video card.
I would upgrade the RAM first but only because it's ridiculously low for a PC in this day. This may fix your issue but it's sounds like a slow Internet connection to me. Could also be caused by network traffic.
You don't upgrade a video card, you buy a new one.

The RAM question depends a lot on your operating system, which you don't mention.

Choppy video also makes your internet connection suspect.

You can keep your old monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc., and just get a new "box" for a couple hundred bucks. Your problems will be solved.

If that is not possible, start with adding RAM. What you will find though, is older RAM is expensive and you don't really get the "bang" for your buck.

Don't even consider PAYING someone to do this work for you. The cost of parts and labor will exceed the "buy a new box for a couple hundred" idea mentioned earlier.

Best of luck to you.

OH, I consult on the side for people buying computers. I build them. I'm a gamer. I spend way too much money on my PC that I'm constantly adding to. I always have the fastest video card, RAM max'd out, fastest processor, and a dedicated 768k line to my house. I still get the occasional choppy signal from google, youtube, etc. You'll never fix that will the equipment you own. The problems there arise in the WWW in general, problems your internet service provider, and many times from the source.
get both

uh n maybe ur connection to net is juz sucky

get a better one
Upgrade RAM to at least 512mb. The graphics card may help. It is fast since it uses ddr memory and it will free up shared RAM that was being allocated to integrated graphics.
i suggest you upgrade ram!!!! and your internet connection....

but i would be better if you spend a little more money to upgrade the whole system...... and dont think you can buy an sd ram now.... its too outdated!!!!
